A video installation exhibit to
experience an imaginative reality.
WARPED is a video installation designed and exhibited to experience a parallel state of being, where it is absurd, surreal & unfamiliar, created in collaboration with GDUG20
Reality is often difficult to understand. It folds, bends, buckles, contorts, and warps.
Designed to offer a parallel experience of reality taken from life after death, the installation features a parabolic surface crafted from over 600 paper prisms inspired by Matt Shlian's work. This unique foundation serves as the canvas for projection mapping, creating an immersive narrative space.
EXHIBITION DESIGN
Within 3 days, we set out to design and execute this installation. We worked together in the areas of 3D modelling, laser-cutting, sound design, creating motion graphics for projection mapping, branding the exhibition, and setting up the installation.
The unique structure of the installation meant each of the 600 paper prisms had a different dimension and had to be individually marked according to its flat plan and stuck by hand, and the tight 3-day deadline meant every 21 of us had to put all hands on deck and work for 24 hours straight, but we pulled it off, and the response we got was overwhelming.
Additionally, I was in charge of the communications and marketing team, responsible for the branding, social media, and print marketing collaterals, where I worked on the below banner design and led the branding and marketing team.
